I don't think I have ever been a *real* fan of any actors or musicians. Even when I was 13 and many of the chicks around me plastered their walls with Take that posters and commented teary eyed that Johnny Depp was just soooooooo dreamy, I didn't give them much thought. That doesn't mean I don't like music or films. I do. I just don't go all crazy over the people creating and/or contributing to them.
That being said, if I were to chose a celebrity now to idolize, it would be John Mayer. The reason is not that I like his music, even though I do (something a 3 years younger me would probably kick my ass for and tell me that there is no metal in it). The reason is not that I begin to breath irregularly and giggle when I see pictures of him (which I actually don't). I guess the answer lies in his "blog" (hate that word).
If I had stumbled upon his web page and he was just a .. say.. a computer nerd (shut up! Computer nerds are cool), I would have become a frequent reader anyway. The fact that a celeb is writing about zombies, that he will not say "stay classy" or use any reference to a whale's vagina on a concert in San Diego or that he put his own pic into my heritage only to discover that he actually looked more like Jessica Lange than himself makes this just so much more juicy.
I guess that just goes to show that I'm a more of a sucker for sense of humor and personality than just good looks and fame. Go figure.
